I want to tell you some ongoing things about this site. . how it started and so on..
Well it started from a simple fact for me. As a dj for many year, when I stopped mixing outside and therefore when I stopped buying records, I didn't really know what to hear. In fact I didn't hear anything for like a year, nor even touch to my fellow mk2's. Few by few , I began hearing some stuff on youtube, the easy way, let's call it like that. But it was always some old stuff from the 90's mostly , remembering me all good times ;) . I thought : " there isn't any good music nowadays, the scene is fuk up , it sucks big time!!! " ..
Then I eventually discovered the silverdale247's channel and I really appreciate what I found there, not too dancefloor, good to hear home.. well lots of diversity.. After 3 months hearing only his channel ( I stopped looking further), suddenly, as you know, his channel was shutdown, so I told him he should run his own website, that way this kind of shit wouldn't happen. or at least if this happens, you don't lose everything.
I realized that this sounds like "yea right" for someone that doesn't have a clue about websites so since my last project was more or less finished, at least the development phase, I took on me to create a site based on his channel and the wonderful content it owns .After some hours, had it mostly ok, in the big lines, 2 months after, I have it rather completed.. just some daily maintenance left of course..
Sadly, it appear that the owner doesn't give a shit about the place itself.. so I basically did all this for nothing , except for me maybe, since I use it as my personal jukebox. While this is not cool (I didn't plane to manage this place in the long term) it also brings me other issues, one of them being the server's space. I did build the site thinking the owner would carry it somewhere else, or would contribute somehow in its future. But no.
So I got an idea. If anyone of you is willing to host his/her website in a very reliable server, I am thinking to rent a quad core, 12mb cache, 8 gb ddr2 , 2 Tera HDD , 2x1GB/s connectivity.... with unlimited traffic (the best thing in all of this) so we could share the space. I d personally manage the server itself since a server like that is not affordable when managed by a company. Depending on how divided is the server, will be the price. You can think about like 35€/months to get your share of it .
